Past Events by Year: Come along to our fun AGM and vote on the new executive for the 2019/2020 year. After we get that out of the way we will have the NZPIF executive officer Andrew King speaking about all the changes happening around tenancy law and everything thrown at it in the past two years. Andrew is the person you see in the media talking on behalf of the NZPIF and often deals with the Government directly to try and get us landlords heard. This will be a popular one so register early! With the new Healthy Homes Act now law come and learn about what it entails and how you will have to bring your rental property up to standard. A special meeting run by the OPIA to help you get healthy home ready. We will go over all the new requirements and also some of the products you can use to do this at minimal cost using OPIA and NZPIF discounts and tips from Cliff (Current OPIA president) about what he does to make it easier and cheaper. This event is a must register event as it is looking to be very popular and we may have to limit numbers so make sure you reg now! Ashley Church will be presenting on September 11 on The Future of Property Investment. Ashley has an extensive background in the property industry, going back more than 30 years. He is the CEO of the Property Institute. With a high media profile, he is frequently called on as a guest commentator and industry expert in national media and television programmes. Come and hear Janet Ashcroft on August 14 a year on from the last time she spoke last August. Janet was a Tenancy Tribunal Adjudicator and currently deals in all areas of property law. Come and hear Claire Wilson from Christchurch who will be speaking about her property experiences and tips and Tony Mounce who will be speaking on how to tailor mortgages to your requirements at Forbury Park Function Centre on March 20. In 2015 Kerry Beveridge purchased the City Hotel Timaru. Come to this meeting on 3 October to hear what happened next. Since then the few usable rooms have been renovated to give 16 very popular rooms. Kerry is currently re-purposing space to give 7 new bedrooms and a bathroom. From hands on 24 / 7 Kerry has made the building more high tech and more hands off. He has a waiting list of tenants wanting to move in and advertisers through word of mouth. Come along and hear about Kerrys' Boarding house experiences (good and bad) and his newest project. Come and hear Graeme Fowler on the 5 September. Graeme is a Hawkes Bay - Hastings property Investor with over 25 years experience, He currently holds 40 rental properties, His aim for 2017 is to make $1 million in value from the repairs and maintenance he is carrying out on his properties. He has purchased properties around the Hawkes Bay area for buy and holds and trades. He aims to buy at good discounts for profit and refinancing after getting them revalued. He will share the lessons he has learnt including know your market place well and don't pay more than you have to and crunch your numbers. Graeme has a Facebook property investor group page with over 5000 members (you can join in the discussion). He wrote NZ Real Estate Investors secrets, the first edition sold 10,000 copies, it was the story of 10 NZ millionaires who invested in property.
