About UsOtago has had a busy year. Our major meeting for the year was Martin Hawes, with record attendance. We also had Paul Wright and despite the inclement weather, it was another good turn out of members. We have had a record number of new members joining this year. Thank you for your support. All our meeting sub committees have worked on bringing more nationally recognised speakers like Ron Hoy Fong, Martin Hawes, Paul Wright and Brian Kerr (always well received) and local interest speakers such as council representatives to inform the members. We currently hold four different types of meetings; The main meeting, Young and New, Central Otago and Women in Property. The annual bus trip, visiting members renovation projects, remains popular, culminating in a hearty professionally supplied BBQ and plenty of networking to start the year. We also hold a Christmas function and sometimes a mid winter function. Discussions have already begun, prior to the new committee taking office recently, toward expanding the social events we put on this year to continue to provide service to the members. Dunedin is a strong University city and the OPIA provide representatives to the student induction gathering as well as appropriate Council led working groups. We also began a tie in with the local television station – Channel 9. The OPIA hold an extensive library which is taken to each meeting and also held at a local hotel in the city to make it easier for members to borrow and return books. There are also board games available and games nights are held periodically. Finally “discounters” form a large part of our incentive for members to join. The Otago Property Investors Executive is made up of 14 hard working people all dedicated to improving the well being of property investors The Executive is as follows:
Committee: Susan Blackledge, Susan Guthrie, Greg Johnson, Carmen Houlahan, Michael Ovens, Cliff Seque, Daryl Taylor, Dale Watson. |
